Investments Notice
Draft for counsel review (2026-10-21). Counsel should confirm that showing holdings, fees and factual checkups (without recommendations) stays outside the definition of investment advice under the Advisers Act and state law, and review the "publisher" and "impersonal advice" positions before launch.
On the Intensive plan, Ombudly can show the investment accounts you connect through Plaid: holdings, values, cost basis, transactions and fees.
What Ombudly does
- Shows your holdings and their total value.
- Points out facts: expense ratios and fees you're paying, cash that isn't invested, how much of your portfolio is in one holding, and missing cost basis.
- Explains terms in plain language.
What Ombudly doesn't do
- It isn't investment advice. Ombudly isn't a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. It doesn't recommend buying, selling or holding any security, and it doesn't consider your goals or risk tolerance.
- It doesn't place trades or move money. Ombudly has read-only access to investment accounts.
- Managed investing isn't available. If it's offered in future, it will be through a registered investment adviser, under a separate advisory agreement you sign, and every trade will need your approval.
Accuracy
Data comes from your institutions through Plaid and may be delayed or incomplete. Check your institution's statements before making decisions. Past performance doesn't predict future results. Investing involves risk, including loss of principal.
